Independent Hardware Engineering Consultancy
Electronics, firmware, RF, and mechanical design under one roof. One accountable team carries your product from first schematic to the production line.
We have shipped hardware in audio, defense, consumer, and medical products. Here is some of it.

Replaced a closed third-party streamer module with an embedded Linux platform running Roon, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz, DLNA, and AirPlay. Six protocols, one audio device, full Roon Ready certification.
How we built it ->Dormisan Sleep
Wearable medical device using stochastic vibrotactile stimulation to improve HRV by up to 20 points.
How we built it ->
Streaming, DSD processing, and a low-noise analog output stage in one chassis. We owned the electrical, mechanical, and software design, and the conflicts between them.
How we built it ->Beach Dynamics
CBT array converted to fully active with a dedicated DSP amplifier per driver: 36 tweeters, 24 mids, 2 subs.
How we built it ->
Naboo Audio
Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W hat delivering native DSD512 streaming to any DSD-capable DAC over a galvanically isolated USB bridge.

RF that works through a sealed machined-aluminum enclosure, a reverse-engineered control protocol, and microamp sleep current. Prototype through production.
How we built it ->
Cincinnati Speaker Company
Lossless wireless audio between active loudspeakers. No cable between them, no compression, no audible latency penalty.

Bace Solutions
Directional beamforming using DSP-implemented FIR filters for precise spatial audio in a multi-speaker array.
How we built it ->
Octave Records
iOS app for the Octave Records live radio platform, designed, built, tested, and deployed to the App Store.
How we built it ->
Tend Works Co
WiFi-connected capacitive soil moisture sensor with root-depth sensing across 26 plant profiles.
How we built it ->The customer needed a compact, motor-driven locking mechanism for a fingerprint-secured luxury case. We completed the mechanism design, proved it on working hardware, and delivered the finished design files.
The customer needed their product on the Apple Find My network. We designed a custom board with an accelerometer, speaker, servo, battery, and fingerprint reader, fully ready for the Find My network. We have Apple MFi access and are certified integrators.
Most projects need several of these at once. We do all of them, together.
Schematic capture, multi-layer layout, mixed-signal and high-speed digital design, DFM review, and Gerber packages your contract manufacturer can build from.
Board design in depth →Linux and RTOS firmware, driver development, board bring-up, and OTA update systems that recover from a failed update in the field.
Firmware in depth →Roon Ready certification, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz, DLNA, and AirPlay on embedded Linux, with all of them sharing one audio device cleanly.
Streaming in depth →RF front-end design, antenna selection, link budget analysis, and FCC pre-compliance, including radios that have to work inside metal enclosures.
RF in depth →Enclosure design, 3D CAD, FEA, and tolerance stack-ups that account for the board, the antenna, and the assembly line.
Mechanical in depth →For products where the problems cross disciplines. We design the electrical, mechanical, and firmware together so those problems get caught early.
View all services →You talk to the engineers doing the work. Here is what happens after you reach out.
We pin down the requirements, the constraints, and what finished means before design starts.
Schematics, mechanical concepts, firmware architecture, and system specs. You review and sign off before anything gets fabbed.
Working hardware on your bench. We stay on through bring-up, integration, and every board spin it takes.
Gerbers, BOM, firmware source, mechanical drawings, and the documentation your contract manufacturer needs.
We catch the problems that sit between the schematic, the enclosure, the firmware, and certification. Those problems get missed when the work is split across several vendors.
Our engineering is inside certified streaming audio gear, avionics headsets, and medical wearables that are on the market right now.
The person you call is the person doing the work. Every decision is made by someone who knows what is physically on the board.
"Grinalds Solutions delivered top-notch engineering expertise when we needed it most, working quickly and communicating clearly at every stage. They owned the complicated high-speed digital and analog hardware design and were able to integrate with our software, audio, and DSP teams as if they were part of the company. Their prompt, effective problem-solving not only addressed our urgent needs but ultimately ensured our project's success."
